I have now had an opportunity of submitting to
my Council your letter of 25th ult. and in reply I am instructed
to inform you that in the event of the Bill introducing Regis-
tration of Nurses in Hong Kong being passed and Rules thereunder
made in terms of the drafts submitted by you, my Council would
be likely to agree to a reciprocal scheme with the Hong Kong Nurs
ing Board for the re-registration of Nurses. My Council would
be likely to agree to a scheme in the terms adjusted with other
Nursing Boards in British colonies, namely, that on the footing
that the Hong Kong Board accepts for Registration all Nurses
whose names are on my Council's Register, my Council would be
willing to accept to register here all Nurses on the Register
of the Hong Kong Board.
My Council will, of course, assume that Registra-
tion in the colony will be restricted to Nurses actually residing
